Daniel's Story
Daniel is a passionate, caring and driven man. It's all of those qualities that have carried him this far. Since he was twelve, Daniel has struggled with illness that has severely affected his life. After dealing with a rare blood disease, Evan's Syndrome, for eleven years, Daniel made the decision to have a Bone Marrow Transplant in September, 2013. While this effectively cured his Evan's Syndrome, graft vs host disease (GVHD) manifested itself in his lungs in what is called Bronchiolitis Obliterans.

Between 2014 and 2017, Daniel's quality of life dropped dramatically and we took another chance with a double lung transplant in February, 2017. His recovery has been amazing so far and we're so excited to see how different life can be with this second chance to breathe easy!

Daniel's next challenges are cataract surgery in the summer and getting ready to go back to school in the fall/winter. I know he's excited to get back into engineering and I'm more than willing to let him talk my ear off about everything he's learning!
